Staying Healthy

Water aerobics are well-attended during the summer; morning exercise routines continue throughout the year. Yoga classes for women are on-going, while a recently-established “Yo-Guy” group has been enthusiastically received by men who are marveling at the benefits of yoga for the first time.

The community of Cedar Mountain shops for fresh, locally-grown produce year-round at the WhistleStop Market and farmer’s markets in Brevard, Hendersonville and Flat Rock. Organic fruits and vegetables, hormone-free beef, free-range poultry and eggs, and fresh trout make healthy eating easy and delicious. Changing seasons bring an ever-changing harvest: juicy peaches, tangy tomatoes, creamy corn, okra and beans in the summer; squash, glowing pumpkins and crisp apples in the fall.
