Green Areas

Hiking Trail

More than 400 acres of pristine forest are set aside as protected green areas,  More than 20 miles of hiking trails crisscross the green area, taking walkers to mountain summits and long range vistas, grottos and caves, streams and waterfalls, and even several vintage moonshine still sites.

More than twelve acres of environmentally-sensitive land have been permanently conserved under an easement agreement with Conserving Carolina, Inc. (CC)  Following guidelines of both Audubon International and Conserving Carolina helps the Homeowners’ Association make responsible decisions regarding the management of our green areas and common areas.  Because of its long-time commitment to protecting the forest and the Association’s wide range of educational programs about the natural world, Sherwood Forest has always attracted people who know and care about the environment.
